Audit Requirements for Emergency Drainage Plumbing Work

If a licensed plumbing contractor is required to carry out emergency drainage plumbing work, which may include work carried out outside of normal working hours, or a drain excavation under a pathway or driveway which impacts on the safety of others, then the drain may be backfilled immediately.

 A drainage audit must then be requested to be carried out the day after the day the work was carried out. At the time of requesting the audit, the number of the notice of intention/certificate of compliance that are submitted for the work must be given to the PLB’s support officer together with the address of the property where the work was carried out. If the work is selected for audit a surface inspection will take place.
