Establishment & Function

The Plumbers Licensing Board was established by Part 5A of the Water Services Licensing Act 1995.

 This Act vests the Board with four main functions:

  1. to monitor matters relating to the qualification and training of plumbers;
  2. to advise the Minister for Consumer Protection on matters relating to the licensing and regulation of plumbers;
  3. to administer a plumber licensing scheme; and
  4. to perform licensing, disciplinary and other functions given to it by the Regulations (Water Services Licensing (Plumbers Licensing and Plumbing Standard) Regulations 2000).
