What is an as-constructed drawing? My plumber has asked if I have one of my property.

An 'as constructed drawing' is a drawing of where the internal property sewer pipes run around your house.

They are drawn by the plumber that installed the sewer pipes and are then submitted to the Water Corporation (in sewered areas) and to the Local Council in non-sewered areas where septic tanks are used.

These drawings are helpful when sub-dividing, renovating or extending and if your sewer pipes block-up.

There is a small cost (under $20) when requesting a copy from either the Water Corporation or your Local Council.

What are the as-constructed drawing requirements?

The Water Corporation require a copy of the installed sewerage drain layout.

Local Government Authorities are now requesting they be given an as-constructed drawing for all drainage work carried out in their district.
