Issue Date: Friday 23 June 2006
The Plumbers Licensing Board is reminding all interested licensed plumbers to apply for the prestigious Plumber of the Year Award for 2006. Nominations need to be with the Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Association by Friday 30 June 2006.
The Award is open to all licensed plumbing tradespersons and contractors and will be awarded to the person judged by an industry panel as having demonstrated the highest standards in plumbing work knowledge and hand skills.
Chairperson of the Plumbers Licensing Board Tom Hall said today that that Board was pleased to sponsor the Award that gave an individual plumber the opportunity to be tested against the best in the Western Australian plumbing industry.
All finalists in this Award will be recognised in promotions by the Board and the winner will be announced as part of the Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Association Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner to be held on October 28 2006.
"The Board is also sponsoring a new Plumbing Business of the Year Award this year which will also be presented at the October event. A panel of industry and consumer representatives will judge this Award with nominees to demonstrate the highest levels of customer service and a commitment to industry excellence in areas such as training, workmanship and compliance with regulatory requirements", Mr Hall said.
Nominations for this inaugural Award close on 31 August 2006.
Mr Hall encourages plumbing businesses of all sizes to nominate for the 2006 Plumbing Business of the Year Award and to give themselves the opportunity to have their customer service quality and contributions to the plumbing industry recognised by their peers.
