The Plumbers Licensing Board regulates the State’s plumbing industry by issuing licences to suitably qualified and experienced plumbing contractors and their tradespersons and maintains compliance and workmanship standards for the protection of public health and safety and the environment.

This site has been established by the Plumbers Licensing Board to provide valuable information to trade participants and consumers about the plumbing industry serving the Western Australian community.

What is plumbing work?

Plumbing work can include the installation of taps and sinks, hot water systems, property drainage and sewer conversions.  These plumbing fixtures, installations and systems are fundamental components of all residential, commercial and industrial developments throughout the State.

Water supply, sanitary and drainage plumbing therefore needs to meet high standards on an ongoing basis to ensure there is no associated risk of contamination of community water supplies through ineffective waste disposal systems.
